UT Chandigarh Planning for Land Pooling for Residential and Commercial Projects

Development projects will be completed by giving residential-commercial plots to landlords

The advisor told the Urban Planning Department - make a draft of the scheme so that work can start on it soon.
There is very less land left for completing development projects in UT Chandigarh. This is the reason that the land pooling scheme will be notified in Chandigarh on the lines of Punjab. Although there is very little land left with the landlords here, but there is a plan for land pooling so that this land can be used in the development project of Chandigarh. On Tuesday, Advisor Dharampal held a meeting with the officers of Urban Planning and other departments regarding this. Instructed the officers of the Urban Planning Department to prepare a draft of the scheme for land pooling. All the provisions should be made in this so that the land bank can be formed and the development projects included in the Master Plan-2031 can be completed. The projects which are to come for the development of villages through land pooling can also be done properly. The advisor held a meeting in September last year regarding land pooling. But due to paucity of land nothing final could be done. The administration also wants to make an authority like GMADA in Chandigarh. On the lines of GMADA, only this authority can work on property land pooling or development projects in Chandigarh. For this, there is a plan to make CHB also the nodal agency.
Such provisions can be there...
In other states, land pooling involves taking land from zamindars or farmers for development projects. In this, they are not given money according to the rate of the land, but residential and commercial plots are offered. A similar provision can be included in the land pooling scheme of Chandigarh. At present only some land is left with the zamindars towards some villages of Chandigarh like Maloya, Dhanas, Sarangpur and Cambwala.
