New Shortest Route to the International Airport will pass through UT Villages

A total of 52 acres of land is to be acquired, out of which 13 acres in Jagatpura, 39 acres in UT villages,
from Junction-63 of Sector 48-47 to International Airport will be taken out. In this new route, 850 meters of the road will originate from village Jagatpura (Punjab). For these 13 acres of the village, the land will have to be acquired. 39 acres of land of Burail in UT's village Faidan and Chahar side will be acquired for this new raid. In this way, a total of 52 acres of land will have to be acquired to build a new 200 feet road to the International Airport.
Along with this, the Chief Architect and Traffic Officer will give planning for the inter-section design of the traffic of East and Vikas Marg. On exit of a new road from Junction-63, the distance of International Airport will be reduced to 3.5 km. The distance from Sector 47-48 to International Airport at present is 13 km. With the introduction of the new road, the distance of the international airport will be reduced by 9 and a half kilometers.
A meeting was held in the UT Secretariat on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Advisor Dharampal on the survey report of the short route to the airport. The Finance and Engineering Secretary, DC, Chief Architect, Chief Engineer, Defense, Railway, and Airport Authority officials were present in the meeting.
Route 1: The tunnel under the airport runway was not approved,
in the meeting, a presentation was made on the survey report of two new routes given by the consultant. In this, a route was to be taken from village Faidan, Chahar side to Burail land along the boundary of the airport, in which 500 meters tunnel would have to be made under the runway of the airport. It was not considered feasible by the Defense and Airport officials citing security.
Second route: Land will have to be acquired from Punjab
From Junction-63, village Faidan, Chahar side Burail and village Jagatpura have to be removed from the land. This route was discussed in the meeting. For this, a total of 52 acres of land will have to be acquired. The matter of acquiring the land of the village of Punjab will be taken up with the Punjab Government through the Administrator. There will be no problem in getting the land acquired. The land rates will also be decided according to the revenue record of Punjab. So the farmers will not have any objection. It was agreed in the meeting on this route.
